ISUS Copy Milled Upper and Lower. Interesting Case - Part II

by Linda on October 5, 2009

As noted in my previous posting, the upper and lower hybrid case on Astra implants was sent to the ISUS milling center for copy milling.  A digital file of the proposed milled bars was sent to the lab for approval. After viewing the 3d file of the bar, the Dr.’s lab was pleased to approve moving forward with the milling phase.  Naturally, we were extremely pleased when the completed bars arrived well within the time frame promised. Close inspection of the bars revealed an accurate and beautiful duplication of the wax ups, as well as a stable passive fit to the provided models (see photos - click to enlarge).  Who could ask for more?

The case has been delivered, and the lab and doc will be photographing the case as it goes for initial try-in, crown and bridge fabrication, and final seating.  We’ll keep you up to date and post as we receive new pictures.

here’s the link to Part I, just in case you missed it.

I am jumping ahead but i would like to know if there will be pink porc tissue under the preps , also what type of metal this case is milled out of ? I am looking forward to seeing the next stage. Case looks great so far. Thanks for sharing this with every body.

Here is a quick followup to answer the questions about metal type and the treatment of the gingival portion of the two frameworks. The frameworks have been fabricated out of Grade 4 pure titanium.
The clinician is planning for his technician to apply either pink composite or acrylic to the gingival of the frameworks to “flesh out” the area. We are also looking forward to seeing the next stage and will be posting pictures as they are provided. Thanks for the comments.
