As part of an interview with many outsourcing dental labs, OPTIONS magazine asked the question: Name another CAD/CAM service provider you respect - and explain why.

I shared with the publisher that I was unable to participate in this issue, but I knew he would gather up many willing participants. I was right and the article turned out great. I was pleased and honored by the results. In fact, Dale Dental earned the respect of its peers and industry professionals more than any other company in the world - wow!

Here’s what they had to say…

Question: Name another CAD/CAM service provider you respect - and explain why

Mike Girard, President and CEO, Diadem - I have the most respect for some of the pioneers like Larry Searles from Issaquah, David Lesh at Dale Dental, Jeff Paulen from Laboratory Solutions….

Cathy Bonser, Director of Marketing, Dentsply - There are many respectable CAD/CAM service providers. 3M has penetrated the market with its Lava hub and spoke system. Dale Dental offers a wide range of outsourcing services lab-to-lab and  is providing great web-based order tracking [and] support.

Bob Miller, President, CMC Milling Center - David Lesh, owner of Dale Dental. David was the first true fixed (C&B) outsource center to provide a source laboratories to receive substructures, enabling those laboratories to place their signature touch on the final restoration. David is a person with a vision and integrity and he barbeques a great steak.

I loved the last line in Bob Millers quote. I still have fond memories of that night at my house - probably seven years ago. It was after a local industry meeting and my wife and I arranged dinner at my place with Bob, Kevin Mahen,  Greg Harris and his lovely wife Amber. My specialty is dry-aged steak seared and cooked on a grill at over 1,000 degrees. I always serve steaks on extra-thick “chop” plates heated to 500 degrees and with a non-serrated Laguiole knife honed to a razors-edge.

While eating, my hand suffered a bad burn, I think someone else got stabbed and the water was so cold it could crack a tooth. Amidst all the injuries and ensuing ruckus Greg Harris turned around , shook his head and said “…I don’t believe it, it’s EXTREME eating at the Lesh’s house.” I still think about that line every time I cook steaks. Thanks Bob for the great quote and thanks Greg for the great line.

And a special thanks to all those who thought enough of Dale to mention us in the interview. Myself and the team have put a lot of thought, heart and soul into Dale Dental and I am beyond humbled and honored to earn such great respect by so many. Thanks again and best wishes to all.
